What is a Google Place ID?

It's the unique identifier Google assigns to every business on Google Maps. It starts with 'ChIJ' and looks something like ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4. You need it to generate a direct review link.

Where do I find my Google Place ID?

Go to Google's official Place ID Finder at developers.google.com/maps/documentation/places/web-service/place-id, type your business name, click the result on the map, and copy the Place ID shown in the popup.

Is this link the same as the one Google gives me in Business Profile?

Functionally yes — both open the review form for your business. The format we generate is the canonical Google one: https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID.

Why use a QR code instead of just the link?

QR codes are how in-person customers leave reviews fastest. Print one on receipts, table tents, or counter signs and a customer can leave a review with a single phone camera scan — no typing, no searching.

Is this free?

Yes, free and no signup required. We're a paid product (ReviewDrop) for the automated funnel — the SMS sends, follow-ups, star-filter routing, private feedback intake — but the link/QR generator itself is free.
